Chlor-Alkali Products

  • Sodium Hydroxide often known as caustic soda is a highly corrosive material typically used in soap making industry.

Due to its high reactivity with oils and fats, it represents the main constituent in household detergents and cleaning agents today.

With its highly alkaline nature, it is often deployed in  personal care products or other applications where a stable alkaline environment is required.

Industrially, it is often regarded as a platform chemical to serve as a precursor for the synthesis of other useful chemical compounds.

    Product Sheet

    Safety Data Sheet

  • Potassium hydroxide liquid is a clear, highly corrosive alkaline solution formed by dissolving solid KOH in water.

It is widely used in industrial applications, including the production of liquid soaps, detergents, and cleaning agents, where its strong alkalinity helps break down organic materials and grease. In chemical manufacturing, it serves as a reagent for neutralization, pH adjustment, and chemical synthesis.

Liquid KOH is also used as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries and in biodiesel production for transesterification reactions. Due to its caustic nature, it must be handled with appropriate safety measures to prevent chemical burns and environmental harm.

    Product Sheet

  • Sodium Hypochlorite commonly referred to as bleach, is a rich source of chlorine. Its high chlorine reservoir per molecule makes it an excellent disinfectant and antimicrobial agent.

Sodium hypochlorite solutions are generally clear, greenish yellow liquid with an odor of chlorine when in contact with oxidizable material & surfaces (including skin).

It is also a great destaining agent - effective in removing a variety of stains by oxidizing away the intense color yielding chromophores present in any color systems

    Product Sheet

    Safety Data Sheet

  • Hydrochloric acid is corrosive in nature and is a useful cleaning agent for limescale removal. It is typically found in many household application cleaners as stain removers.

Additionally, hydrochloric is used heavily in the metal industry for metal cleaning, pickling steel and aluminium etching processes.

Similar to its alkaline caustic soda counterpart, it is also used to regulate the pH of acidic mediums and is a precursor to other downstream chemicals.

    Product Sheet

  • Chlorine is a halogen and has a characteristic penetrating and irritating odor. Chlorine is a greenish yellow gas but an amber liquid under pressure

While its use is broad and varied, the more popular end uses of chlorine includes but not limited to:

    • Disinfection

    • Plastics

    • Glove manufacturing (Detackifier)

    • Water and wastewater treatment

    • Pharmaceuticals

    • Cosmetics and other organic synthesis

Liquid chlorine produced by MSCI are dried, compressed and liquidfied and subsequently stored in 930kg drums and 68kg cyclinders

  • Aqueous Ferric Chloride is a chemical compound that is used in a variety of applications.

It is primarily used in waste and water purification processes. Acting as a coagulating agent, its multiple iron species bring non-settling particles together into larger masses called floc easing the way for filtration of unwanted masses from treated water.

Aqueous ferric chloride is highly corrosive and has also found a home in surface treatment industry such as etchants for copper-based metal in printed circuit boards.

    Product Sheet

  • Methyl Chloride, otherwise known as chloromethane, is a colorless, sweet-smelling, flammable gas. It was formerly utilized as a refrigerant but has been deemed obsolete due to its toxicity to the environment.

Today, it is commonly used as a methylating agent in the manufacture of silicones and butyl rubber.

Methyl chloride serves as a key raw material in the production of paraquat, which is extensively used in agriculture for effective weed management and crop yield preservation.

Other Chemicals

  • Calcium nitrate is a highly water-soluble, inorganic compound with many applications. Being one of the only few calcium salts which is highly soluble in water, it is highly sought after as a form of rich calcium source for crop growth in the plantation sectors.

More importantly, calcium nitrate is a key component in the manufacturing of natural and synthetic rubber gloves. Its coagulating properties enhances aggregation of latex particles onto former surfaces which is then further treated to form the end glove article.

CCM’s calcium nitrate is brand is synonymous to the glove industry today. Highly recognised as an effective coagulant, both CALNITE & INNO+ is designed to cater to both high speed natural and synthetic rubber dipped products.

    Product Sheet

  • Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) is a versatile inorganic acid with widespread applications including the production of gasoline, fertilizer, chemicals, paints, batteries, and many more. It is a viscous and colorless liquid that is highly soluble in water.

With its multiple properties of acidity, reactivity, and corrosivity, it is extremely versatile in nearly every industrial process in the world.

Sulphuric acid is primarily consumed to produce phosphate-based fertilizers via a phosphoric acid pathway. It is also common ingredient in many cleaning products such as drain decloggers & derusters.

    Product Sheet

  • Aluminium sulphate, also known as alum, is a nontoxic chemical that is sold in two forms: solid and liquid. It has many uses, especially in water and sewage treatment and paper making.

In water treatment, aluminium sulphate is used as a coagulant to clarify drinking water and to reduce phosphorus levels in lakes.

It is also used in personal care products such as deodorants as a deodorizer, and in paper sizing applications to improve the resistance of paper against water absorption.

    Product Sheet

  • POLYALUMINIUM CHLORIDE COAGULANTS FOR WATER TREATMENT

For water treatment industries, coagulation plays a critical role in the removal of suspended and contaminated material substances from the treated water ensuring its safe release to the environment or for human consumption. Coagulation typically involves the addition of compounds that promote the clumping of fine floc into larger floc so that they can be more easily separated from the water.

A hugely vital compound in the industry is Polyaluminium chloride (otherwise known as PAC). With its high charge density, PAC is highly effective in coagulation and solids removal compared to other aluminium based coagulants in the market. At CCM, we offer high grade PAC for all water treatment applications be it for potable or wastewater applications.

PAC is a corrosive and acidic solution that's typically yellow in color and is typically characterized by its degree of basification. Other uses of PAC include within the oil and gas industries for oil refining where the product works as an oil-water emulsion destabiliser offering excellent separation performance. PAC is also used in the production of deodorants and anti-perspirant products as the active ingredients that essentially creates a barrier on the skin reducing levels of sweat.  It is also serves as a coagulant in papermill wastewater.

  • Liquid sodium silicate, also known as water glass or liquid glass, has many applications, including:

    • Construction: Used in concrete, cements, and as a wall coating. Sodium silicate is also used in acid-proof construction, refractory applications, and to bind thermal insulating materials. Used for corrosion control.

    • Water treatment: Used as a flocculant which binds to colloidal molecules, creating larger aggregates that sink to the bottom of the water column.

    • Detergents and soaps: Used in soaps and detergents as an alkaline builder and dispersant.

    • Paper industry: Used as a deinking agent removing from paper fibers by suspending the ink in the soil and preventing it from redepositing.

  • Sulfur is a pale yellow crystalline solid that melts at around 115°C. It must be transported in a molten state because it crystallizes when it's not liquid, making it difficult to load and unload.

See Sen’s sulphur products comes in 2 grades:

    • Molten Sulphur (liquid)

    • Sulphur Powder (solid)

Sulphur is primary used for the production of sulfuric acid, in  agriculture applications and in the rubber latex industry as part of the vulcanization process of rubber.
