Operating as a subsidiary of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), CCM’s early operations were centered on fertilizer production, supporting Malaysia’s agricultural development.

CCM Berhad was incorporated, marking the beginning of its journey as a key player in Malaysia’s chemical industry, laying the foundation for decades of growth, innovation, and industry leadership.

Relocation of the Chlor-Alkali manufacturing plant to Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. This facility was originally CCM’s first plant, established in Shah Alam in 1966.

Management buy out of ICI’s equity in CCM by Permodalan National Berhad (PNB)

Expanded operations in Pasir Gudang with the investment in a second Chlor-Alkali manufacturing plant and the establishment of an inorganic coagulant facility to serve the water treatment sector. 2 years later, CCM commissioned its first Calcium Nitrate manufacturing plant in Shah Alam, expanding its product portfolio to support key industrial applications.

CCM signed a Sales & Purchase Agreement to acquire polymer coating specialist Delta Polymers in Bandar Baru Bangi, which was subsequently renamed CCM Innovative Solutions (CCMIS). In 2016, CCMIS was rebranded as CCM Polymers, as it is known today.

Corporate restructuring exercise completed, with MSCI and SSCB becoming subsidiaries of CCM Berhad (CCMB), consolidating operations under a unified corporate structure.

Successful conversion of the Lahat Chlor-Alkali plant from caustic soda to potassium hydroxide production, achieving a capacity of 27,000 ECU. With this, CCM became the first company in Malaysia to produce potassium hydroxide locally.
